“Confusion’s Son” by Thando Bella Khoza

I close my eyes and think of you my heart beats
For you are the connection between my mind and filtered emotion
An attempt at true devotion, it beats without motion or control
A breeze hits my skin when I sense you around
I bly still ‘cos your scent has me caged up and bound
Shock lifted I’m so astounded and still
My soul feeds off your natural beauty
Overweight and satisfied it flows right through me
Our hearts, our minds our bodies a trinity led spirituality
Mutualistic kinda love-ly, your lips bring life to this painfully
Death ridden heart that lives within me, for you are my new identity
Your every exhale a breath breathed thought
a map of hidden treasure lost valuable and well sought.
Your voice and deep melody this extended metaphor brought
Your heart beat- a well written cipher
Your skin the storyteller the pied piper
Your hair, a route through all the journeys you decipher where the rest will lead
I hand you my heart, you can nurse it or leave ot bleed
For I no longer live, but breathe and proceed
To where love is just a dream
And I hope you will dream with me…

“My Answer” by Kgosi Mokone

I see each and every tear just running down her face
All of them are in it, like they are in some kind of race
To reach the bottom of her cheek where her love has been deceased
And written on her tombstone is “May My Heart Rest in Peace”
Her perception is like an open book that I get to read
But then I met her soul the moment I planted my seed
Who would have ever thought that it was meant to be?
But then distance tore us apart the second we were free
They say the heart grows fonder when an absence is present
But pieces from a broken heart try to put together a sentence
I guess I’m a spitting image of a loving essence
Because I know we were more what cupid offered when we bless each other with our presence
So love can’t be a mistake…when there is no lesson
It should be the only answer that is without a question

“To my father” by Siphenkosi Majola

Remember me? You said you had a plan for me
you promised to take my burdens away and set me free
i thought i was created for a reason but right now my existence seems to serve no purpose
every night i pray for a brighter day
but your light never seems to shine my way
i am your child...you are my Father
so give me the blessings i truly desire
iv been washed in the blood of the lamb
with your last breath you gave me my first...and beyond that, eternal life
its through your death that Christianity was born
and through it we are able to be re-born
we've been reconciled through the blood of salvation
and granted the gift of life
the darkness may consume our souls but like a shadow concealed in the darkness we are revealed through Your light
so you do remember me, remember us...
Though at times we loose faith in you, but you never loose faith in us
its due to your grace that we get to live today
and we all serve a purpose, which is, spreading the gospel of God and fulfilling the prophecy
we seek refuge in your arms in times of need and you fill us with spiritual bliss

"That place" by Siphenkosi Majola

You know I spend days on end looking at the clouds...
At times I use the wind as a paint brush to carve your face on this blue canvas they call the sky
I sometimes wonder why...
It must have been the young on your face
I mean...you could barely say grace
Or tie your own lace
Yet you had those dreams and ambitions to leave that place...
It must have been the young on your face
I mean...you just never stood a chance
You could barely sing or dance
You were so static many er times very tense
But yet swore to leave everyone in that place
Where you'd go
A place you yet to know
Somewhere among the clouds suppose
Far above the roof tops of those sky scrappers we used to surf
Amongst the stars would be your new turf
Lounging in your shine
Sparkling on those you'd leave behind
Yeah...I guess that the was place
it looked like paradise from where we stood
When night sky shades it would spark up to compliment the stars
Beautiful it was...your face...
Every now and then sneak in a glance...
I mean...I still remember the place
I just hope you won't forget the face
Cause iv been to that place
I thought I see your face
But...I guess its that another place
The place you yet to know
Somewhere in the clouds I suppose
Amongst the stars...your new turf Sparking at those you left behind
